Partick Thistle's promotion push suffered a setback with a late 1-0 defeat away to league leaders Stenhousemuir. Hamzad Kargbo's header after 76 minutes decided the William Hill Championship contest, moving the hosts three points clear at the summit.
The result leaves Partick third in the table on 11 points from six games, now five points behind Stenhousemuir. Their recent form shows one win, two draws and two losses from the last five outings.
Kargbo settled a tight match when he connected with a cross from Ross Meechan. "I planted a firm header past Liam McFarlane after 76 minutes," the goalscorer said. Partick goalkeeper McFarlane could do little to stop the powerful effort.
Partick had started the day in third place and were looking to close the gap at the top. The defeat follows a 1-0 win over Ayr United and a goalless draw with Queen's Park in their previous two league fixtures.
With the international break now underway, Partick's next match is at home to Livingston on 9 January 2027.
