Partick Thistle, nicknamed 'The Jags', has introduced a new mascot named Kingsley, designed by Glasgow-based artist David Shrigley. The yellow creation, which bears some resemblance to a mutated Lisa Simpson, will feature at every home game for the 2015-16 Scottish Premiership season. Kingsley was unveiled as Partick Thistle announced a new partnership with California-based investment firm Kingsford Capital management, owned by US businessman Mike Wilkins. Wilkins, a shareholder in the 2015 NBA champion Golden State Warriors, had been looking for a UK business opportunity. Partick Thistle managing director Ian Maxwell described the two-year deal as 'a real coup'. The partnership will see Kingsford's logo appear on the team's shirts and at the stadium. David Shrigley has also designed a Kingsford logo, which will be displayed on the team's shirts and at Firhill. As a Jags man, Shrigley said it's an honor to be involved with the club in this way. He can't wait to see his design on the front of the shirts and around Firhill. The new mascot and partnership are expected to attract new supporters and funding to the club. With the 2015-16 season approaching, Partick Thistle is looking to make a strong impression. The club will feature Kingsley at every home game, and the mascot is sure to be a talking point among fans. The partnership with Kingsford Capital management is a significant boost for the club, and Partick Thistle is excited to see what the future holds.
