Partick Thistle is backing a scheme to help mums feel comfortable breastfeeding in public.

What is the scheme?

The Breastfeeding Friendly Scheme, backed by the Scottish Government, encourages public venues to display a recognizable logo showing that breastfeeding is welcome.

The scheme is delivered locally by NHS boards and provides training for staff to understand the law and their responsibility to support mothers.

Why does it matter for Partick?

Anthony Docherty, Firhill Stadium manager, said: "Everyone at Partick Thistle is fully engaged in welcoming breastfeeding families."

Partick Thistle's support has also been backed by football manager Mark Wilson, head of medical Alannah McPherson, and first-team player Alex Samuel.
